Autoship Systems Autoload
Receives Type Approval from Lloyds Registry
March 7, 2003
Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada
is pleased to announce that Autoload, our world-renowned
loading instrument software, has recently received Lloyd's
Register approved for longitudinal strength and stability
calculations.
Several years ago, in response to the high demand we
encountered in Scandinavia, Autoload obtained
DNV type approval. The decision by ASC to also pursue
Lloyd's approval resulted from our expanding Autoload
customer base in regions where Lloyd's Registry proved
the most popular classification society.
With versions being developed continually since the
late 1990s, Autoload's 200+ customers range from coast
guard, naval, bulk, break bulk, Ro-Ro, container, and
semi-submersible vessels to offshore rigs. Designed
specifically to meet IMO loading instrument requirements,
Autoload enables vessel operators to perform
proper trim, stability and strength calculations for
any load condition before leaving port and at any time
while at sea. Autoload calculates stability as
fuel and consumables are used, makes use of optimal
ballast, and evaluates strength and stability in a damaged
or grounded condition.
Established in 1760, Lloyd's
Register is an independent risk management organization
that provides risk assessment and risk mitigation solutions
and management systems certification to various industries
worldwide.
ASC is a world leader in marine CAD/CAM software, integrated
load planning
systems, and IT consulting services.
Autoload is also one of the modules within ASC's
stowage planning solutions for break bulk, bulk, RO-RO,
PCTC, container and mixed cargo ships. Any load modification
in the stowage planning module is immediately reflected
in the hydrostatics module. The stowage planning software
interfaces with a given shipping company's booking software.
