Aker Elektro needed a DNV type approved loading instrument to use with the control systems they are developing for three new vessels. The vessel designers, Vik & Sandvik A/S of Fitjar, Norway, needed a hydrostatics and stability simulation program in the design process, which would also be able to produce the official stability documentation for the vessels. Autoship Systems Corporation provided a combined solution, selling Autoload to Aker Elektro and Autohydro to Vik & Sandvik. Both Autoload and Autohydro are based on the same mathematical engine, thus simplifying communication and cooperation between the two companies.

Our proven mathematical engine provides stability and longitudinal strength calculations based on an accurate 3-D model of the vessel - which ensures accurate and reliable simulations for any floating condition, including damaged, wind or grounding situations. The three new vessels will be delivered in mid-2002; one is a seismic ship for Eidesvik AS of Bømlo, Norway, and two are offshore supply vessels for Eidesvik and Møgster.
